Will TATA have a big role in making iPhone now? Discussions are underway for a deal

Talks are going on between Tata Group and Taiwan's Wistron Corp for iPhone manufacturing in India.Tata Group will have a big role in making iPhone in India 

Tech companies have changed their strategy a lot regarding the world's second largest smartphone market i.e. India. Thus, iPhone manufacturing has been done in India for many years. According to reports, the latest iPhone manufactured in India will soon hit the market.

Talks are going on between Tata Group and Taiwan's Wistron Corp for iPhone manufacturing in India. The two companies may establish a joint venture together, where the Apple iPhone will be assembled. Bloomberg has given this information on Friday. 

What is the plan?

A person connected with the matter said that this venture will be Tata Group's new foray into the technology manufacturing sector. The assembly of Apple iPhone in India started in the year 2017. Both Foxconn and Wistron assemble the iPhone in India. 

Apart from China and Taiwan, Apple is now manufacturing assembly units in India. However, it is not known whether Apple is involved in the ongoing talks between Tata and Wistron. 

Recently iPhone 14 was launched 

There are two ways to accomplish this plan. The Tata Group could buy equity in Wistron's India operations or the two companies could jointly set up a new assembly plant. All the details related to the deal have not been finalized yet. Apple, Tata Group and Wistron have not commented in this matter.
