Tata Motors has launched Tata Tiago EV, the cheapest electric car in the country. The company has provided many great features in this car at a very low price.

Tata Motors on Wednesday launched the country's cheapest electric car Tata Tiago EV, giving a fresh boost to its preparations for the festive season. Tata Motors already dominates the domestic electric car market and now with the launch of the first hatchback electric vehicle, the company's dominance is expected to increase further. With this, the months of waiting for the customers came to an end today. The company has provided many great features in this car at a very low price.

company has given many new features in its new electric car. It has a 24kWh battery pack, which is capable of providing a range of 315 km once fully charged. At the same time, the 19.2 kWh battery pack option can run up to 250 kilometers on a single charge. The company has given it the same electric motor and front-wheel drive setup that we have seen in the Tigor EV. 

This motor is capable of generating 74.7PS of power and 170Nm of torque. Apart from this, the company has also given features like cruise control, multiple re-gen mode in Tiago EV. The company claims that its battery charges up to 80 percent in about 57 minutes. This car is capable of accelerating from zero to 60 kmph in just 5.7 seconds.

Talking about the price, it was already expected that it will be the cheapest electric car in the country, but its price may be around 10 lakh rupees. The company shocked everyone by announcing the prices. The company said that the ex-showroom price of this car has been kept at Rs 8.49 lakh for the first 10 thousand customers. At the same time, its top variant is priced at Rs 11.79 lakh ex-showroom.

Of these, 2000 cars will be reserved for the old customers of the company. Bookings for the Tata Tiago will begin from October 10 and deliveries will begin from January 2023. The Tata Tigor EV was the cheapest electric car ever, with an ex-showroom price starting at Rs 12.49 lakh. As for other companies, none of the companies offer electric vehicles in the range below 20 lakh rupees.

Tata Motors has launched electric vehicles in the SUV and sedan category. The Tata Nexon EV is also a favorite in the SUV segment and Tata Motors has dominated the EV market. Along with this, the company introduced the Tata Tigor EV in the sedan category some time ago. Now the company has given customers the option of electric vehicles in the hatchback. Talking about the price, this new electric vehicle is also expected to be taken hand in hand.

Tata's dominance in the Indian EV market

Tata Motors has received a great response in the electric vehicle segment so far. The company's Tata Nexon EV is India's best-selling electric car. Tata Motors has an 88 percent share of the Indian electric car market. In August 2022, the company sold a total of 3,845 electric cars, including Nexon EV Prime, Nexon EV Max and Tigor EV. Earlier, the company sold 4,022 electric cars in July 2022. Now with the arrival of Tiago EV, sales are expected to increase further.
