 Government approval will also have to be sought for boring water in Gujarat now.  The decision has been taken by the Water Resources Department of the Central Government.  If you want to drill domestic or commercial water, you have to get NOC by paying the required charge.

For flats, societies, industrial units, swimming pools Rs.  Mandatory payment of 10 thousand fee

The Central Property Department has decided that it will no longer be possible to drill water directly.  Apartment flats, housing societies, water distribution agencies, swimming pools and industrial units will have to pay a fee of Rs 10,000 for water bore. Not only that, water can be bored only after getting NOC.

This rule will apply in urban and rural areas.  Importantly, the government has exempted water borewells used for irrigation from NOC.  The Union Water Resources Department has also decided to write a letter to the Chief Secretaries of all the states for strict implementation of the decision.  Applications for Panina Borewell have to be submitted by September 30.
